The flood waters have drained away and today we managed to get over the bridge for the first time in 5 days.
It was a bit hairy and I let hubby drive me over. (He warned me he wouldn' t be able to stop halfway to take photos!)
Horses came down off the back hill for a bit of hay and some feed.
See the pumphouse? The water was 3/4 up that yesterday!
This is over the bridge. Yuck!! Mud, sludge and silt, not to mention branches and debris, everywhere.
And so the clean up begins; clearing the fences, putting posts and wires back up...
Oh dear what a mess and a big clean up. Laughed how your dh warned you no stopping in middle to take photos - only a blogger dh would get that probably was in your head to do smile.
OK!! Ditto what Cottage Tails said....she so knew what I was going to say, LOL. My husband would love to drive around in that mud. He did back in San Diego during some flooding we had....the HOA was NOT amused with all the dried mud on his truck. He loved it all. I do hope clean up does not take too long. We would truly come over and help if we did not live so far away.
I am pleased the water has gone down but dread the thought of all the work cleaning up.
ReplyDeleteGood luck.

You have got a big job ahead of you with all that clearing to do. At least the water is receding.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lot of work to clean it up.....
