Day 317 of 2020

Lately we've had some delicious kai moana (sea food) , fresh scallops this time.
We've also recently feasted on fresh snapper and Paua.
Courtesy of son-in-laws who are keen hunter gatherers.

See you tomorrow,
Raewyn.

Day 316 of 2020

Yaay - the Feijoas are flowering!!
Looking forward to some delicious fruit ♥

See you tomorrow,
Raewyn.

Day 315 of 2020

It's been a couple of years since I've used this old trough for planting. The soil we'd put in it wasn't the best and plants didn't do so well.
Over the winter I reworked it and it also now has two (elderly) chickens and one possum buried in it.
I'm hoping for great things.... and hopefully I've done enough to keep the chickens off it.

See you tomorrow,
Raewyn.

Day 314 of 2020

When bale stacking goes wrong.
Bales too fresh and soft at the moment.
The MOML wouldn't be happy to see I've shared this photo!!!

See you tomorrow,
Raewyn.

Day 313 of 2020

Another weekend of harvesting.
Last week's silage making was 'grass we bought' off the neighbour. This was at home.
Here you can see they're about halfway through wrapping the bales.

See you tomorrow,
Raewyn.

Day 312 of 2020

My DIL's studio is open for action!
Lily had a great time posing, George wasn't so sure ♥

See you tomorrow,
Raewyn.

Day 311 of 2020

Hmmmm, these calves thought they were clever getting in with the herd but were a bit perplexed when the milk actually ended up on the other side of the fence!

See you tomorrow,
Raewyn.

Day 310 of 2020

Nigel used to think he was safe up here......!

See you tomorrow,
Raewyn.

Day 309 of 2020

Remember the calf with the odd face? (Now called Monkey Face).
I forgot to show you her cousin, also from the blotchy face family line.
They lined up side by side to feed so I took the opportunity to take the photo.
(The kids call her Monkey Face too)

See you tomorrow,
Raewyn.

Day 307 of 2020

The result of harvesting day yesterday.
128 round bales of silage.

See you tomorrow,
Raewyn.

Day 306 of 2020

Silage making time.
This could have been a chance for a fabulous family photo but two toddlers didn't co-operate and the moment was lost!!
(My vision was them both jumping at the same time.)

See you tomorrow,
Raewyn.

Day 305 of 2020

Very handy to have a mechanic living on the property.
My calf feeder wheels got new bearings today.

See you tomorrow,
Raewyn.

Day 304 of 2020

Some (lovely) rain spelt the end to the pretty show of these roses.

See you tomorrow
Raewyn.

Day 303 of 2020

A bit scary when tots decide to do something they've seen the big kids do. She 'swung' for about 5 minutes like this.
Just as well these kids are little monkeys!

See you tomorrow,
Raewyn.

Day 302 of 2020

The London Plane trees are looking particularly nice at the moment.

See you tomorrow,
Raewyn.

Day 301 of 2020

A nice end to the day :-)

See you tomorrow,

Day 300 of 2020

Time to be transformed from a farm dog back into an urban dog!

See you tomorrow,
Raewyn.

Day 299 of 2020

Knowing which day is the right day for taking/sharing a photo of this rose is tricky.
What if it rains or blows overnight and I've missed my chance.
What if we have more days of brilliant sunshine and they get even better?!

I took the chance and took the photo. This rose is a once-a-year wonder.
So lovely when it flowers and a mess of prickly thorns the rest of the year.
I think this year I need to give it a good cut back and let the rest of the garden have a break!

See you tomorrow,
Raewyn.

Day 298 of 2020

Dog-sitting for the weekend.
Taking them down to the stream is a great way for them to burn off some energy!

See you tomorrow,
Raewyn.

Day 297 of 2020

Another photo of brown calves and green grass!!

See you tomorrow,
Raewyn.

Day 296 of 2020

On my daily walks during the drought (and lockdown) I used to look at these Taraire trees and fret that they all seemed to be dying. Couldn't see any green on them at all.

But look - they've survived - lots of new growth —

See you tomorrow,
Raewyn.
