That time of the year again - when the river omes up, goes down, comes up, goes down.
See you next time,
Raewyn.

Necessary but not necessarily welcome!!
Maybe trucks can get around more easily now!
See you next time,
Raewyn.

June 18th 2016

For a little while we have been hearing the Tui in these big Flame trees but they have been well hidden and we haven't seen the actual birds - just lots of their melodic song.
Finally one decided to feed on the flowers that were in sight.
The quality of the photos isn't great sorry, the light was such that I could't actually see what I was photographing!!
The Tui, aka The Parson Bird - for obvious reasons!
I'll have to keep watch to see if I can get some clearer shots!

See you next time,
Raewyn.

June 12th 2016

I really noticed how different Joanne's sunsets were when I was at her place on the prairies.
Here the vista competes with the hills and the bush!

Raewyn.

June 11th 2016

June 1st 2016

The 1st of June.
The start of a new farming season.
Gypsy day in New Zealand, when farms, cows, jobs change hands.
Traditionally we would see herds of stock on the roads moving to new farms, uteloads of farm gear, stock trucks and so on. A day when we've been on the move too, over the years.
We're starting our 13 season on this farm.
Starting our 20th season in Northland and 20th season as farmowners.
See you next time,
Raewyn.

May 2016

The Autumn harvest is nearly over...we've been helped by some wee birds.... we have to be quick around here :-)
The Persimmon tree has been given a good working over!
Such fragile looking legs....

The Silver Eye. Appropriately named, I think.
See you next time,
Raewyn.
