Day 50 of 2020

I've discovered one good thing to come out of this drought.
We have a nectarine tree down by the chook yard. It was cut down before we moved here but grew back a long time ago.
It's a prolific bearer but usually the fruit splits, and the skin hardens with any summer rain. Although edible and sweet, they're not very satisfying.
This year, with no rain, we have lovely big fruits - no splits and totally yummy.
Now we have to beat the birds to the top ones!

See you tomorrow,
Raewyn.

  1. That is so interesting to see how the weather conditions affect the fruit. You wouldn't expect the dry conditions to be so beneficial.

  2. Isn't that interesting that the rain can be helpful for some things and not for others?
