Because his legs were tucked up the wrong way, the mother of this big boy needed a bit of help to calve.
And then she wasn't really interested in him - left him by himself out in the paddock while she had a good old graze.
So we took him into the calfshed and fed him up on colostrum milk.
We don't know why we haven't thought of using the wheel barrow for situations like this before - gosh it was so much easier than carrying the calf ourselves!
See you tomorrow,
Raewyn
I suppose it is the equivalent of a pram in calf terms. Very smart way to do it.
ReplyDeleteGood luck. I hope he does well and thrives.
Perfect transport for a calf…..
ReplyDeleteGood luck raising him.

Best way to transport the calf, although he looks a bit like he is giving the side eye there!! Hope he goes well now he has you and the MOYL to care for him.
