Day 52 of 365

Farm work
Today we got the herd in and each cow was vaccinated against Rotovirus - something that can make their calves scour (once born), and is very hard to treat. 2mls jabbed in the neck each. You can see the mess the cows made coming down the hill to the yards.

Day 50 of 365

Down on the farm
Hubby's current winter job is extending our pumpshed so there is room to work on the pump inside it.
Today he poured the concrete. The pumpshed is near the stream and on the edge of the bush.
(The photo shows NZ native scrubby plant Manuka).
Wow cant believe I have done 50 days already!

Drying off
Last milking!! Each cow has one of these tubes of long acting penicillin inserted into each teat to prevent infections over the winter - makes for a very long final milking.
I will answer all your questions re the drying off process next week when our internet is reconnected!! (I am suffering withdrawls!)
See you tomorrow!
