There go the last of the cows after the last milking of the season.
A long milking as we treated each quarter (each teat)(a cow has 4 teats so each section of her udder is called a quarter!) with either a tube of teat seal or long acting penicillin. This ensures optimum udder health when they calve.
So they're now on holiday until mid-July onwards.
Usually we dry off May 31st so this is very early - but with the drought it's the best thing to do.
See you tomorrow,
Raewyn.
Bye girls, another misty morning.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time out in the paddocks girls. Do you also get a rest Raewyn and hubby??
ReplyDeleteThat is a big change. Doesn't mean it will be quiet though!
