Day 321 of 365

I don't normally post photos of things I don't like (read detest) but have decided to make an exception and put this photo up. In NZ we don't have many big pests (no foxes, cougars or other varmints!) but the Possom is a real menace in our forests eating native birds' eggs and browsing and destroying the trees.
This young marsupial must have left Mum and has found a home in an old barn. Of course the dog was very interested.
In spite of all the bush around us we don't have as many possoms as we could have but to me, one possom is one possom too many!
See you tomorrow,
Raewyn.

  2. Your opposum is so much prettier than ours in the the U.S! I love animals, but opposums make me think of big, white hairy rats! Bleck!

  3. The only possum I like is one that has been made into a pair of slippers or a scarf!! The tails make great toys for small dogs too. Have you seen how much a possum blanket is worth? Huge amounts, maybe you should catch, kill and skin them!!

  4. I don't think I would be too happy to see this!

  5. That's the way I feel about armadillos ! The only good armadillo is a dead one ! You can't believe how destructive they are.
