Lately we've had some delicious kai moana (sea food) , fresh scallops this time.
We've also recently feasted on fresh snapper and Paua.

Yaay - the Feijoas are flowering!!
Looking forward to some delicious fruit ♥

It's been a couple of years since I've used this old trough for planting. The soil we'd put in it wasn't the best and plants didn't do so well.
Over the winter I reworked it and it also now has two (elderly) chickens and one possum buried in it.
I'm hoping for great things.... and hopefully I've done enough to keep the chickens off it.

When bale stacking goes wrong.
Bales too fresh and soft at the moment.
The MOML wouldn't be happy to see I've shared this photo!!!

Hmmmm, these calves thought they were clever getting in with the herd but were a bit perplexed when the milk actually ended up on the other side of the fence!

Silage making time.
This could have been a chance for a fabulous family photo but two toddlers didn't co-operate and the moment was lost!!
(My vision was them both jumping at the same time.)

Very handy to have a mechanic living on the property.
My calf feeder wheels got new bearings today.

I took the chance and took the photo. This rose is a once-a-year wonder.
So lovely when it flowers and a mess of prickly thorns the rest of the year.
I think this year I need to give it a good cut back and let the rest of the garden have a break!

Dog-sitting for the weekend.
Taking them down to the stream is a great way for them to burn off some energy!

On my daily walks during the drought (and lockdown) I used to look at these Taraire trees and fret that they all seemed to be dying. Couldn't see any green on them at all.
