I still have two calves left - these two stayed home when the others all went to their new farm yesterday.

I wanted to feed them for another week before weaning them.

That's the trouble with late born calves!

They'll be weaned and sent to join the others before Christmas.

A big day for the (64) beefie bull calves I raised this spring.

They all came home so they could hop on a truck to go to their new farm.

Only 10 minutes up the road so it wasn't too big a journey for them.

Celebrating Haylee's (soon-to-be) 18th.

Which included a whole bunch of teenagers at ours on the deck for a BBQ dinner. Then it was party time in an old barn down the farm.

I was a bit concerned that there was something wrong here as there were so many bees outside the hive first thing in the morning - rather than tucked up inside sleeping! But I was reassured that this was a 'strong hive' that needed another box on top.

The bees do look quite healthy, don't they??!!
